End of year present

This was a drawing I was off and on about for almost half year. This was for one of my best friends, and she asked me to draw something for her (she also had some specifics for me to add to the drawing). I had 3 other layouts for this before I settled on this one and had another one that I messed up on with the inking (so I had to restart). I did try my best, but I think I could've done better after looking at it after all this time. I didn't actually work on it for a long time, but some days I tried making it but then gave up. By the last week I was half-way done sketching the new version after ruining the last one with an ink mistake, so I knew that if I was to keep my promise I had to work at it. After sketching I drew an outline and erased the sketches (took more time than I intended). I then inked over the outlines and then erased said outlines. And then I waited for the ink to dry and shaded everything in pencil (I waited an entire day for the ink to dry. I was sure it dried, but I slept and almost forgot about it). And then after that I shaded most things with ink (trying hard not to mess up. I went slow on this one). And finishing at somewhere around midnight of the last day, I was done. This is just a pretty special drawing, I wanted to remember it.
